Mental Health Career Highlights

Launched the Integrated Care Program (Behavioral Health Consultation in Primary Care) at Kaiser Permanente NW (KPNW) Rockwood Medical Office (RKW), 2002-2015

Collaborated with 20+ Family Practice and Internal Medicine providers to establish a brief-therapy/mental health consultation practice within three RKW primary care modules.  Awarded Rockwood Medical Office’s “Best of the Best” in 2011 and, again, in 2014 for performance excellence and overall contributions to the clinic and its membership.

Co-led the multi-departmental effort to imbed the KPNW Pain Clinic’s chronic pain management group series within the RKW primary care medical home model, 2011-2012

Contributed to all phases of pilot program development, from planning and delivery to outcome assessment and recommendations to pilot program sponsors.

Developed a multi-phasic, evidence-based care pathway pilot for members in need of trauma-focused mental health services — The Complex Trauma Care Pathway (CTCP), 2018-2020

Garnered support for the CTCP pilot and served as program lead from its inception to completion. The CTCP yielded statistically significant improvement in a variety of complex trauma-related symptom domains and was described by participants as transformative and, in some cases, life-saving.  The CTCP was KPNW’s nominee for the national 2020 Voh’s Quality Award, and an article summarizing pilot outcomes was published by the peer-reviewed Permanente Journal in May of 2021.    CTCP Article
